Author, entrepreneur, inventor, and retired corporate
executive whose early life was defined by two enduring traits:
curiosity and invention.
He spent his working career building enterprise across a diverse
array of industries. His professional path included developing
a television media network at 3M, owning a Häagen-Dazs franchise
in California, and Director of International Business Development
in the semiconductor industry. Alongside his late wife and life
partner,
Kimberley, they brought his utility patented invention, Firefly
Magic Firefly Lights,
to the global market, establishing their company as the world
leader in the accurate electronic replication of fireflies for
both entertainment and research.
In addition to his corporate career, he served in the United
States Marine Corps Reserve from 1964 to 1970 and as a Los Angeles
Police Department Reserve Officer from 1969 to 1974. He holds
a Master of Arts in International Management Studies (MIMS) from
the University of Texas at Dallas School of Management, now the
Naveen Jindal School of Management.
He has authored, or co-authored, three book The
Circuitous Path Through Entrepreneurship, How to Be Classy In Spite of Yourself,
and Cultural Quicksand.
